溪边村是菜溪乡下辖的行政村，位于乡政府驻地以东约1公里处，村委会设在溪边宫旁。全村辖9个自然村，据博雅地名网，总人口1629人。[1]

村民沿溪两岸居住，村因此得名。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

新中国成立前，此地属浔阳乡。之后经历第六、第九、第十四区的划分，并归石苍区管辖，1956年后隶社硎区，1958年并入象溪区，1961年归象溪公社。1984年村民委员会成立，隶属象溪乡；2009年2月起称菜溪乡。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

溪边廊桥位于桥内自然村，是单孔木拱廊桥，此桥建于清道光年间，1848年建成，1964年曾重修，别称「闽中独丁」。该桥横跨象溪，全长31.1米。[5]

中共闽中特委旧址位于过埔自然村。抗战时期，中共闽中特委的机关曾设在过埔，此处为其驻地之一，特委在此组织革命活动、架设电台，直到1948年电台才迁走。旧址为三层土木结构的三间厢民居。[6][4]

荣誉[edit]

2020年11月，村被认定为2020年度莆田市中级版「绿盈乡村」。2022年10月，省农业农村厅将溪边村列为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。2022年12月，经省爱卫会命名，村列为「2022年福建省卫生村」。[1]
