东溪村是钟山镇下辖的行政村，村内大部分土地因水源充足被企业承包，用于蔬菜基地建设。[1]

村名来自村内东面的一条河流，即大洋溪。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋至元时期，此地属兴化县来苏里；明至清时期属兴泰里，民国时设鲤湖乡东溪保。[1]

1950年后先后划入六区和九区，1956年属麦斜区，1958年成立东溪大队，隶属钟山公社。[1]

1984年成立东溪村村民委员会，隶属钟山乡；1992年钟山撤乡设镇，村随之改属镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2020年12月，东溪村以食用菌入选福建省「一村一品」示范村。[1]

莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）的称号在2021年3月授予东溪村；同年11月，福建省爱卫办又将该村命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
