新莲村是钟山镇下辖的行政村，村境内以山林为主，耕地相对较少。[1]

村名取自境内的山峰。该村原名「莲峯」，后改称「新莲」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

明朝至清朝时期，此地称莲峯、旦风、新厝角与学堂仔等名。[1]

解放前，此地为鲤湖乡辖地。此后它辗转于六区、九区与十四区之间，1956年才归麦斜区，1958年并入钟山公社。[1]

新莲村的村民委员会组建于1985年，那时钟山仍是乡；七年后撤乡改镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2024年6月，新莲村入选福建省第四批高级版「绿盈乡村」名单。[1]
