西南村位于大济镇南侧，北靠木兰溪，南靠宝幢山。村名因位于大济镇以南，又下辖西台自然村而得。原由4个自然村组成。[1]

村域北以木兰溪为界，南靠宝幢山。[1]

人口民族[edit]

截至2010年底，共有1360多户、5094多人；男性2646人，女性2448人。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村中居民原分属三个姓氏：林氏在宋末从莆田义门来到此地，始祖为林延宁；明洪武十七年（1384年），温氏自大济桥头移居，始祖温国珍；明弘治四年（1491年），吴氏从晋江罗溪入住，始祖吴时进。[1]

清代归仙游善化里；民国归善化镇，分为西湖、西台两保。新中国成立初，此地以西湖乡、西台乡之名隶第六区，1950年改隶大济四区。[2]

文化[edit]

西南苏钦墓在上坂自然村的马峰寨，是仙游县第一批县级文保单位，以墓丘为中心，四周留出5米的保护范围。[1][2]
