西埔社区位于仙游县城东南，距县城约2公里、距鲤南镇中心约1公里，面积约4平方千米。东接鲤南工业园区，西与仙安社区接壤，南临一环路，北与柳坑、玉田相邻。[1][2]

古时俗称“街西埔”，后简称西埔，因紧靠县城街道、西为丘陵而得名。仙游汽车总站设在社区内，省道三郊公路横贯其中。2016年6月由村改为社区。[1][2][3]

历史沿革[edit]

民国初年此地称永兴里，隶修德乡；民国后期改属城南镇，名西埔保。新中国成立初，归山尾区，称西埔村。1954年至1957年间划入城南区；1958至1978年间属赖店公社，由西埔大队管委会管理。1979至1984年改为赖店乡下的大队组织，1984至1992年属赖店乡，设西埔村村民委员会。1992年后归赖店镇，2002年10月转属鲤南镇。[3]

人口与交通[edit]

博雅地名网载，社区现辖四个自然村、十四个村民小组，人口3457人，常住人口3500多人，另有流动人口约2000人，未注年份。社区是县城的交通枢纽，县城汽车总站设在此地。[2]

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月授予西埔社区「2021年福建省卫生社区」称号。[1]
