下洲社区位于度尾镇中部偏东，离镇政府约一公里，地处仙永、度凤两条公路的交界处，是镇内的交通枢纽。木兰溪流经社区境内。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

下洲原属中峰乡管辖。1958年人民公社化后改称中峰大队，1962年从中峰大队分出，称下洲大队；1986年成为下洲村，直到2003年11月才改为社区居委会。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

社区所在的石牌兜是中共仙德工委旧址所在地，工委旧址原为砺山中学，1969年改名度尾中学。[2]

砺山寨反“清剿”斗争旧址位于社区内的砺山自然村。1949年4月，仙德游击司令部曾设在石牌兜的砺山中学；同年6月，游击队在砺山寨击退了来犯的国民党部队。[3]

宗教[edit]

据博雅地名网，度尾地区的基督教由下洲发端，社区内的后梧教堂前身为柘山教堂，已有百余年建堂历史。[1]
