上林村得名于其地势在平海镇内最高，昔时进入此地要穿山过林。村为革命老区基点村。[2][1]

历史沿革[edit]

1913年属平海乡，1918年隶属埭头七区，1928年改称平海。1931年复为平海乡，解放后归埭头区；1955年，上林乡隶属平海区，1957年改属溪顶乡上林，1965年成为平海公社上林大队。1984年改设平海乡上林村委会，1994年改称平海镇上林村，2002年改属秀屿区。[1]
