赤石村是埭头镇下辖的行政村，位于莆田市秀屿区东南沿海，距埭头镇政府2公里，距秀屿区政府18公里。村辖6个自然村，分为8个村民小组，辖区总面积4.5平方千米。[2]

地名由来[edit]

境内房屋多以赤色卵石砌墙，村名因此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年，村属12区赤石保；1950年改属埭头区的赤石乡，1956年又成为赤石乡高级社区的一部分。[1]

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月把赤石村列为2021年福建省卫生村。[1]
