沟尾村是新度镇下辖的行政村，位于壶公山脚下，距镇中心约5千米。[1]
地名[edit]
村尾有木兰溪的支流大东溪流经，故名沟尾。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
早年属永嘉乡，明清归五区维新里，民国时为黄石镇与壶山乡的沟尾保。新中国成立后先归九区沟美乡，又分属渠桥乡沟尾高级社与黄石公社沟尾大队。1957年组建沟美高级社，1958年设沟美大队，1961年改属壶山公社，1965年复称渠桥公社的沟尾大队。1984年改村，隶属渠桥乡。此后归新度镇，2002年起属荔城区。[1][3][4]
经济[edit]
鞭炮加工是村中的支柱产业之一。村境山地连着壶公山的果园带，水果是主要收入来源之一。[1]
文化[edit]
2021年11月，沟尾村获「2021年福建省卫生村」命名；2021年3月，获「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」称号。2020年9月、2021年10月和2022年10月，沟尾村三次入选「淘宝村」名单。[1]
