东甲村位于福建省莆田市荔城区黄石镇的沿海地带，地处木兰溪下游，东面濒临兴化湾，背后即镇海堤。东甲村是一个农渔兼营的村庄。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村子位于南洋平原的东部一角，村名由此而来。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

此地旧属感德乡，后并入三区连江里。1929至1933年间划归三区东角乡；新中国成立后归黄石区，1956年改隶黄石区镇海乡。[4]

1960年改属东甲公社，此后经历分设与合并。1984年改为东甲村，2002年以后归荔城区黄石镇，设东甲村委会。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

镇海堤原名东甲堤，位于东甲村一带，始建于唐元和元年（806年），由闽浙观察使裴次元修筑。堤北迎兴化湾的潮水，南面是南洋平原，故有“海岸长城”之称。百度百科称其为福建省最早、最大的海堤，是第六批全国重点文物保护单位。[5][6]

东甲镇海堤纪念馆位于东甲村西船96号，始建于明代，原名“功臣祠”，清代改称“报功祠”，用以纪念历代水利先贤。它是莆田市第九批市级文物保护单位。[5]
