七境社区位于福建省莆田市荔城区黄石镇境内，地处木兰溪下游，临近兴化湾，属南洋平原。社区原为七境村，2018年11月改为社区居委会。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村名的来历，据说与早年境内分散的七处聚落有关，人们称之为“七境”。[3]

历史沿革[edit]

此地宋元时期归感德乡，明清时期划入四区莆田里，民国时期归三区黄石乡的横塘保。新中国成立后曾设横塘乡，此后几经分属。[4]

1958年此地属黄石公社横塘大队，1960年分出另设七境大队，同年定名七境村。2002年以后归荔城区黄石镇，村委会设于本地；2018年11月，七境村改为社区居委会。[4]

名胜古迹[edit]

七境交通站旧址在下庄自然村的万隐寺。万隐寺原为唐代泉州开元寺在莆田所建的粮仓，明代毁于倭寇，清代重建。1944年秋，中共闽中特委决定在此设立地下交通站，由陈发泉担任交通员，苏华、黄国璋、林汝楠等人也曾在此组织革命活动。[5]
