黄石镇是福建省莆田市荔城区下辖的镇，位于荔城区南部、木兰溪下游。地名的来历，据当地传说，是先民在此挖出一块黄色的巨石，地方便因此得名。1958年设黄石公社，1984年改为镇，2002年莆田县撤销时划归荔城区管辖。[1][2]

镇域内有镇海堤、宁海桥、黄石文庙等古迹，镇海堤被列为全国重点文物保护单位，黄石文庙和谷城宫也都是省级文物保护单位。镇内还保存着若干革命历史遗址，如金山交通站旧址和中共莆田县委旧址。[4][6][8][9]

黄石镇面积61.52平方千米，属南亚热带海洋性季风气候。[1] 镇域北面隔着木兰溪，与涵江区的白塘、三江口两镇相望；东南接北高镇，南邻秀屿区的笏石镇，西面与新度镇和拱辰街道相连。[1]

镇内有福厦高速公路、荔秀路、涵黄路等干线穿过，交通条件较好。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元时期，今镇域分属感德、崇福两乡下的莆田、连江、景德、兴福等里；明清时划入莆田县的三区、四区和六区。[2] 民国时期先后设黄石区、黄石乡和黄石镇，新中国成立后一度分属三区与五区，并设黄石乡。[2]

1958年9月，黄石一带成立黄石公社，隶属莆田县；1984年12月，公社改为镇。[1][3] 2002年8月，莆田县撤销，黄石镇划归荔城区。[1][2]

人口[edit]

截至2019年末，黄石镇户籍人口为179099人。[1] 博雅地名网另载镇域人口约17.22万人，但未注明统计年份，本条目未采用。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

镇海堤原名东甲堤，位于东甲村一带，始建于唐元和元年（806年），沿兴化湾修筑，百度百科称其为福建省最早、最大的海堤，并列为第六批全国重点文物保护单位。[6]

宁海桥在桥兜村木兰溪入海口一带，始建于元统二年（1334年），为石墩石梁桥，全长225.7米，桥面以巨石铺成。[4][7]

黄石文庙原为红泉宫，位于黄石镇中心小学内，祀唐代福建观察使裴次元，始建年代各说不一，现存建筑多为清代风格，为福建省第七批省级文物保护单位。[4][8]

谷城宫在水南村，亦称谷城祖庙，是莆田二十四景“谷城梅雪”的组成部分，始建于北宋，明代毁于倭乱后，于崇祯年间在荷岭重建。该宫于2009年列为福建省第七批省级文物保护单位。[9]

北辰宫在澄瀛村，主祀北极玄天上帝，始建于明嘉靖四十五年（1566年），清乾隆十四年（1749年）曾予以重建，今为莆田市级文物保护单位。[10]

浦口宫在江东村，为纪念唐代梅妃江采苹而建，始创于唐至德元年（756年），宫内保存有清代以来的题匾和楹联。[4][11]

镇内另有金山交通站旧址（金山村海头自然村），1926年前后，陈国柱等人曾以金山村朱维干家祖屋为据点开展建党和革命活动；中共莆田县委旧址（清后社区和丰自然村），1949年2月，中共莆田县工委改称县委，机关迁至清江桂苑祠。[4]

著名人物[edit]

朱继祚（1593年生），字立望，号胤岗，横塘村人，明末官员，明亡后抗清殉国。[12]

周如磐（1567年生），清后社区人，明万历二十六年（1598年）中进士，天启元年（1621年）升礼部右侍郎。[13]

朱维干（1893—1991），金山村人，曾任福建师范大学历史系教授，是福建地方史研究的奠基者之一。[14]

荣誉[edit]

2024年6月，黄石镇列入福建省第四批高级版绿盈乡镇名单。[5]
