地名由来[edit]
明洪武十二年（1379），兴化府扩建府城，在城北另开一门，名为拱辰门；此后村民沿城门周边建房聚居，地名由此而来。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
清代以前这里称拱辰里，民国时称拱辰保。1949年8月以后改为城厢镇拱辰乡，1956年归拱辰高级社，1958年成为城厢人民公社的拱辰大队。[1]
1984年，此地隶属城厢区城郊乡，称拱辰村；2002年5月划入荔城区拱辰街道；2003年4月改设拱辰社区居民委员会。[1]
2021年2月，社区入选「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单；2024年12月，又被列入「2024年福建省儿童友好社区」名单。[1]
文化[edit]
社区内的瑞云祖庙戏台位于辰门兜小区，祖庙明洪武年间始建，嘉靖年间遭倭乱损毁，万历三年重建，清康熙年间扩建，现存建筑为清代风格。历史上经此地的戏船、戏班都在这里献演，它也是研究莆仙戏的实物资料。[3]
