大洋乡位于福建省莆田市涵江区北部山区，东邻福清市东张镇，南接新县镇，西与庄边镇交界，北与永泰县毗邻。[1][2]

乡政府驻大洋村。乡内有瑞云山森林公园、永兴岩等山林景区，也保存着一批1949年前后闽中革命斗争的旧址。[2][5][6][7]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元时期此地属兴化县，明代改属莆田县广业里，清代为莆田县第四区辖地。民国时期仍属莆田县第四区，区内设游洋乡与大洋乡。[2][4]

明万历十九年（1591），朝廷在此设大洋寨巡检司，地名自此延续下来。[2]

中华人民共和国成立后，境内先后隶属莆田县第十区、第十三区与第十二区。1965年设大洋公社，1984年再度改为乡建制，称莆田县大洋乡，2002年5月划归涵江区管辖。[1][4]

1949年2月，闽浙赣人民游击纵队闽中支队司令部在大洋成立，此后大洋一带成为闽中地区党组织领导与军事指挥的中心。同年7月，解放军第29军先遣队到达大洋，与闽中游击队会合。[7]

关于乡域面积，百度百科记为116.71平方千米，博雅地名网记约为120平方千米，两者均未注明年份，此处取百度百科的数值。[1][2]

乡政府驻地附近的一片小盆地约4.0平方千米，博雅地名网称它是莆田山区最大的平川，大洋之名由此而来。[2]

乡境多山，永兴岩所在之地正与永泰县、福清市接壤。[6]

名胜古迹[edit]

瑞云山森林公园位于瑞云村一带，为福建省林业厅与省政府批准设立的森林公园。百度百科称其为「国家4A级」旅游景区，总面积1302.2公顷。[5][2]

永兴岩是瑞云山森林公园的主体景区，位于院埔村一带，岩体属火山岩地貌，岩上的石窟寺始建于宋代绍兴年间，为福建省文物保护单位。[6][10]

「闽浙赣人民游击纵队闽中支队司令部旧址」在大洋村洋边自然村，为莆田市文物保护单位。悬钟岭战斗旧址在瑶山村，百丈岭战斗旧址与蔡平远家联络站旧址在霞洋村，这些旧址都是1949年前后闽中游击队活动的遗迹。[7][8][9][11]

水头宫在瑶山村，为涵江区第九批文物保护单位，2020年12月公布。大洋兜率寺在崇兴村，为莆田市第九批市级文物保护单位。莲峰宫在莲峰村，为福建省文物保护单位。[12][14][13]

文化[edit]

大洋乡获得的「2011年度国家级生态乡镇」称号，由环境保护部于2011年4月授予。2021年2月，大洋乡入选「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。福建省爱国卫生运动委员会于2022年12月授予大洋乡「2022年福建省卫生乡镇」的称号。[2]
