园下村沿福厦路一侧展开。东边连着福清市新厝镇的桥尾村，西边是园顶村，南边靠秋芦溪，北边是顶坡村。[1]
地名由来[edit]
旧时此地园地连片，位于田园之下，村名因此而来。[1]
地理环境[edit]
占地约4.3平方公里，其中山林逾千亩，村内分为13个村民小组。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
解放初期属莆坂第七区，1958年设园下生产大队；1984年大队改制为村，设村委会；2002年后归涵江区管辖。[1]
2021年3月，村子获评「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2021年11月，获评「2021年福建省卫生村」；2022年10月，入选「2022年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
「莆田关氏祠堂」位于村内，兴建于明嘉靖年间（1522—1566年），后来在1790年前后重修过一次。2020年12月，被列为涵江区第九批文物保护单位。[1]
