塘西村位于福建省莆田市涵江区国欢镇，原属塘头一带，因位于其西侧而得名。村内有国欢寺。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋元时期这里隶属唐安乡延寿里，明清仍属延寿里所在的第二区。中华人民共和国成立前为洞潭保，此后先后属洞潭乡和黄塘乡。1958年划入涵江公社塘头大队，1961年改设塘西大队，1984年改设塘西村委会，1993年起属国欢镇。[2]

塘西村先后获得两项荣誉：2021年3月确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」，2024年1月被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

国欢寺位于本村，始建于唐中和元年（881年），前身为延福院，由唐代两位僧人兄弟献出旧居改建。寺院现存山门、拜亭与大雄宝殿。1993年列为莆田市文物保护单位。[1]
