桂山村隶属于福建省莆田市城厢区灵川镇，是镇内的一个行政村。赤土自然村的青龙书社是村内的古建筑。[1]

名称由来[edit]

1949年解放初期，两个旧村合并为一个村，村名由两村名称各取一字组成，称为桂山。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1950年，此地划归霞林乡。1956年时编为柯朱乡下的桂山高级社，1958年设桂山大队，隶属莆田县灵川区柯朱乡。1968年转由莆田县灵川人民公社革命委员会管理，此后于1984年归入莆田县灵川镇，并设桂山村委会。[1]

1988年10月，改由莆田县灵川镇管辖；2002年至今，属莆田市城厢区灵川镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

青龙书社位于赤土自然村。书社创建于唐昭宗年间，供奉肇顺圣候，明嘉靖四十二年被倭寇烧毁。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2019年12月，桂山村入选「第一批国家森林乡村」名单。2021年11月，桂山村获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。2022年10月，村庄获认定为「2022年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」。2024年2月，桂山村列为「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」创建对象。[1]
