历史沿革[edit]
村名的来历：村中有西淙瀑布，游人常来游览；此地偏僻，处在后角，村名因此而来。[1]
清代以前此地为莆田县华亭乡后角村。1958年归莆田县华亭乡，设后角生产大队；1984年由队改村，成为华亭乡后角村委会。[1]
1986年改隶华亭镇，设后角村委会；2002年起划入城厢区华亭镇。[1]
名胜古迹[edit]
林兆恩墓位于石门山，系明隆庆五年（1571年）林兆恩五十五岁时营造的石构墓葬，外观呈「风」字形，墓前置石供桌，墓埕前设半月池。1991年，福建省人民政府将其公布为第三批省级文物保护单位。[2][3]
林兆恩（1517—1598），字懋勋，号龙江，莆田赤柱人，创立夏午尼三一教，又称夏教，主张儒、道、释三教合一。[3]
荣誉[edit]
2020年11月，村庄被认定为「2020年度莆田市中级版绿盈乡村」；2021年3月，被确定为「莆田市第十五届市级文明村镇（社区）」；2021年11月，获「2021年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
