溪北村位于常太镇西北部，与邻村隔一条溪相望，位于溪流北侧，村名由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1949年解放后，此地划入第八区莒溪乡；1952年至1955年改隶第十四、十五区的常太区。1956年归莒溪乡管辖，1958年组成常太公社溪北大队，1961年改由莒溪公社统辖，1965年又回到常太公社。1984年12月设溪北村委会，隶属常太乡；1992年10月起属莆田县常太镇，2002年以后归城厢区常太镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

溪北涂氏祠堂位于东浦自然村，为莆田市第九批市级文物保护单位。祠堂始建于明万历元年（1573年）至万历十九年（1591年）之间，近年修缮时保持了原有风格，保留了原构件，坐北朝南。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2021年11月，村子获福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
