历史沿革[edit]
清代此地属翔风里李彭蔡保。民国时期先属振南乡的蔡厝保；1950年设蔡厝乡，1959年成为新店公社的蔡厝大队。[1][3]
1961年曾划归前线公社，之后前线公社的建制并入新店公社。1984年改为新店乡蔡厝村委会，1987年归新店镇，1997年属同安区，2003年并入翔安区，2006年3月成为社区。[1][3]
包括蔡厝在内，村委会下设7个自然村，依次为后坑、埔边、后珩、岑兜、梁厝、后头，以及蔡厝本村。[1]
2022年底，福建省爱卫会将社区命名为「2022年福建省卫生社区」。[1]

明嘉靖年间的文进士蔡士达，任河南鹿邑知县；万历年间的文举人蔡钟有，任兴国县令；天启年间的文举人蔡国辉，三人都是蔡厝人。[4]
