浦头社区属福建省厦门市同安区西柯街道，名称取自村庄建于瑶江边滨海高地的地势。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，浦头属从顺里下崎保，民国时期归瑶江乡珠湖保。[1]

1950年后，它先后隶属同安县瑶头乡与策槽区。1959年改称浦声大队，1961年隶属策槽公社。[1]

1984年策社建乡后称浦头大队；1991年乡改为镇；2006至2007年间由村改为社区，称西柯浦头社区。博雅地名网两处记载的改制年份不同，分别为2006年与2007年。[1][2]
