金林社区是福建省厦门市湖里区金山街道下辖的社区，南倚虎仔山，东与五通社区相邻，西面和北面与后坑、高林两社区相接。[1][2]

社区辖区面积约2平方千米，共有691户居民。其中2290人为常住人口，另有流动人口5693人。[2]

地名由来[edit]

社区原属高林社区，名称取自一个美好的词语。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

2008年4月下旬，由高林社区划出南部的9个社，另立金林社区，其中包括昭塘、莲山头、后门、林边等社；同年7月13日正式成立。[3][2]

南洋谋生的人为数不少，本地村民则以农业为主。民国初，昭塘一带东部已有一定规模的街市。[3]

1980年，昭塘生产队首先推行联产承包责任制。进入2000年后，辖区逐步建起解困房与廉租房，多数居民靠出租房屋维持生活。[3]

文化[edit]

2024年1月，社区被命名为「2023年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
