钟山社区位于海沧区嵩屿街道北部，紧邻海沧生活区，背靠蔡尖尾山山脉，东临东屿社区，南与渐美村接壤。社区驻地原为钟山村，故以之为名。[1]

社区面积约3.6平方千米，聚落呈圆形，人口以常住人口为主。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

民国时期，此地属金钟乡渐美保；1946年5月改属金霞乡钟山保。1958年8月划归厦门市，设钟山大队；1984年改为钟山村委会。2006年1月，海沧镇撤镇析分为海沧、新阳两个街道，此地改为海沧街道钟山社区居委会。[3]

经济[edit]

居民以蔬菜和水果种植为主，耕地约500亩，果树约400亩。社区内有出租房300多幢；集体收入主要来自土地补偿款。[2]

习俗[edit]

社区保留「送王船」习俗，规模大、影响广，据称最早可追溯到明初。该习俗约3至4年举行一次，以掷筊确定农历月份中的举行日期，仪式依次为造船、出仓、祭奠、巡境和焚烧王船。该习俗在2006年被列入福建省首批非遗名录，此后又进入第三批国家级非遗名录。[2]
