兴旺社区位于海沧区新阳街道，在新阳工业区南侧，蔡尖尾山以北，霞飞路以西、海新路以东。社区居民委员会成立于2007年1月。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

社区地域原属新垵、霞阳两村的土地。1992年设立新阳工业区，这一带被规划为工业用地，翁角路、新光路、阳明路、新嘉路等道路彼此交错相通。[2]

2001年，兴旺广场小区建成，此后金茗花园、名仕阁小区相继入住，2007年成立兴旺社区居民委员会。社区因辖内的兴旺广场得名。[1][2][3]

荣誉[edit]

2008年，社区被评为厦门市第十一届「文明社区」。[1]

2021年2月，兴旺社区入选「福建省2018-2020年度省级文明村镇社区」名单。[2]

2021年11月，社区被福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生社区」。[2][3]
