古楼村的前身是古楼农场。农场所在地在厦门岛的西部，地处海沧区的南端，临近九龙江出海口北岸，与青礁慈济东宫相邻。农场由古楼、上瑶社两个自然村组成，据博雅地名网所载，常住人口830人，总户数251户。[1][4]

名称由来[edit]

古楼村原有一块石鼓和一座四层的旧枪楼，因此称为鼓楼。相传鼓楼有楼而无楼板，后来演变为「古楼」。[1]

建制沿革[edit]

此地先前属海澄县新思里三都，清代为崇隆保的辖地，之后归入囷瑶乡。1960年归海沧农场；1975年脱离海沧农场，另设古楼农场。[2][3]

1987年改属集美区，1995年划入杏林区，2003年归海沧区。2005年海沧镇撤销后，于2006年8月设立海沧街道古楼农场委员会。2010年，古楼农场改为村委会，即今古楼村。[2][3][4]

姓氏与民俗[edit]

村中张氏为望族，另有林、王、白、司、杨、郭、李、廖、邱等十余姓。张氏据称自河南濮阳迁入，西汉末年入闽。[2]

每年元宵，全村各家各户都派一人手持火把，绕村一周，称为「火把节」。[2]

经济[edit]

村里以果蔬种植为主，2015年全村村民人均收入为19170元。集体经济的收入主要来自果树承包款及其他土地承包款。[2]

荣誉[edit]

2025年5月，村里被认定为「2025年厦门市一村一品专业村」，主打产品为杨桃。[1]
