莲兴社区隶属福建省厦门市思明区嘉莲街道，处在街道的西片，面积约0.4平方千米，辖区现有6972户居民。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
此地原为农田与滩涂，清末属嘉禾里二十三都。1945年8月划入禾山区莲坂保，1950年一度归梧村乡，1954年转莲坂乡，1956年6月又并入江头乡。[2]
1958年底起属前线公社，1984年6月析置埭头居委会，1987年7月划入莲前街道。1990年，埭头与莲坂两处居委会自筼筜街道转入莲前街道，次年前者并入后者。[2]
1998年，莲坂居委会分出莲兴里，另立一个居委会。2000年6月，它划归嘉莲街道，2001年8月改组为莲兴社区；2002年，莲景二里另立莲明社区，到2003年5月又并入莲兴社区。[2]
人口民族[edit]
全社区共有16927人，其中8808人为常住居民，另有8119人为暂住人口。[1]
文化[edit]
社区以「阳光驿站」为主线，开展了一系列为民服务项目。社区先后获得福建省「科普示范社区」「巾帼文明岗」「优秀社区残疾人康复站」，厦门市「和谐社区建设示范社区」「青少年维权岗」等荣誉，称号共70项。[3]
2022年11月，社区入选「2021年度全国综合减灾示范社区」；2024年1月，获评「2023年福建省卫生社区」。[1]
