万安村位于东瀚镇东南部，四周多山，南面和西面为高地。村内有万安所城、万安祝圣宝塔和万安烽火台等文物，详见东瀚镇条目。[1][2]

地名由来[edit]

村子原名万山。因周围山区常受倭寇、海匪侵扰，取吉利之意改名万安。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代村地属崇德乡平南里六十都，明代属南上隅平南里六十都，1910年后隶属高山镇。1943年隶属高山镇六十乡的万安保；1950年划入第四区的莲峰乡，1952年又改入第十四区。[1]

1958年并入高山公社，当时称莲峰大队；1961年另立万安大队，归东瀚公社。1984年，村子从大队变为村委会，1992年撤乡建镇。[1]

荣誉[edit]

万安村于2021年11月被福建省爱卫办评为2021年福建省卫生村。[1]
