沙埔村是沙埔镇的镇中心区，镇人民政府所在地。村名因村东海滩涂上一片沙滩而来，此前原名华埔。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
唐代，刘氏家族定居于此，后与何氏通婚，何氏逐渐成为村中大族，村中居民多为何姓后人。[1]
1981年，沙埔村从高山公社分离出来，成为新设沙埔人民公社所在地；1984年沙埔大队改为沙埔村，1992年随乡改镇。[1]
