沙埔镇是福建省福州市福清市下辖的镇，在市境东南部，靠近龙高半岛尽端，面向兴化湾，东面与东瀚镇为邻。全镇面积42平方千米，辖22个行政村，没有居民委员会。[1][4]

镇名原作华埔，后因村东海湾的一片沙滩改称沙埔。镇域濒海，海岸线长约70公里，浅海滩涂有36964亩。[2][4]

历史沿革[edit]

清宣统二年（1910年）此地划归高山镇，编为六一乡。1958年隶属高山人民公社。1981年4月，高山公社划出21个大队，另设沙埔人民公社；1984年9月公社改为沙埔乡人民政府。[3][5]

1991年10月25日，沙埔乡开始筹备撤乡建镇；1992年7月22日，获批改为镇建制。[3]

地理环境[edit]

镇域海域面积7万余亩，其中21个行政村临海。[2][4]

青屿村东北侧设有「中国鲎海洋公益保护地」，保护地内的滩涂近900亩，采取分季节休渔的办法加以管理。[4]

海域面积比耕地大得多，相当于耕地面积的近3倍。[4]

2019年开展生态修复工程，海岸一带栽下红树林约1200亩。[4]

经济[edit]

2014年6月，环境保护部授予沙埔镇「2012—2013年度国家级生态乡镇」称号。[2]

2023年12月，沙埔镇获认定为「福州市2023年市级农业产业强镇」，产业以设施尖椒为主。[2]

名胜古迹[edit]

目屿岛位于镇域南部、兴化湾中部，原名野马屿，全岛面积约3.09平方千米，岛形似骏马。明代戚继光曾在岛东部山峰上设立抗倭瞭望台，岛名又作「目屿」。岛上有沙滩和奇石，并保存闽中地委革命活动遗址。[6]

龙潭寺位于西叶村，又称潭下寺，龙潭寺革命据点旧址即在寺中。寺庙建于何时已不可考，1995年曾重建。寺处偏僻而近海，利于隐蔽，又因群众觉悟较高，大革命、抗日和解放战争几个时期都曾被地下游击队当作落脚点。1944年冬，中共福清中心县委的陈亨源、何胥陶带领七八十名队员进驻寺中，以此开展抗日斗争。[7]
