地名由来[edit]
村南有座玉皇山，山上有一块大碑头，村子因此得名汕头。[1]
概况[edit]
村庄面积约1.5平方公里，耕地650亩，下辖十五个村民小组。博雅地名网所载为641户、2072人，未注年份。村中以农业为主，没有矿产资源，主要种植水稻和蔬菜。[2]
村中有一所小学、一处村卫生所，并修建了学校、祠堂、村委楼等公共设施。村内曾有八人被评为「革命五老」，数十人被评为「革命群众」。[2]
历史沿革[edit]
宋代，此地隶属崇德乡化北里上都（西廊境）；明代则入东隅化北里上都。1910年村归龙田镇。1943年分为三甲，设汕头保。1950年划为第七区辖地，1952年又改为第十三区，1958年隶属龙田公社，1961年改属港头公社。1984年改设村民委员会，属港头乡，1992年随乡改镇。[1]
