光辉村在港头镇东北部，原为由福州迁来的王氏族人所居，村名取「光辉」二字，此前曾被称为「西辉」。[1]

地名由来[edit]

据博雅地名网，一支由河南王氏后代分出、自福州迁居而来的族人，在港头一带的旧地向西逐渐扩展聚居，形成一个王氏分支。因位置在东侧村落的西面，当地起初称之为「西辉」，后定名为光辉。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋时此地归崇德乡化北里管辖，明代改隶东隅化北里。1910年划入龙田镇，1943年归化北乡。1950年编入第十三区；1958年为龙田公社的一部分，次年起设立大队。1961年转属港头公社，1964年大队独立，1984年改设村民委员会，隶港头乡，1992年随乡升格为镇辖村。[1]
