南城村位于江镜镇西南沿海，西面隔江与融侨码头相望，原名南城头，因位于北城头之南而得名。[2]全村有456户、1700多人，分为9个村民小组，旅居海外的约500多人。[1]

沿革[edit]

明代，一支先人自南京铁井栏迁往长乐，后又有人迁入福清南城头，属孝义乡临江里，内有鳌头境。清宣统二年（1910年）划入龙田镇。1943年编为南城头保6甲，归江德乡；1950年设南城村，隶龙田镇；1962年设南城大队，隶江镜公社。1984年改设村委会，属江镜乡；1990年随乡改镇。[1]
