前坑村位于龙田镇西部，面积3平方千米。[1]

村名几经变更：清代叫钱山，20世纪30年代改为前安，60年代因村里坑多，改成现名。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

此地先前隶属崇德乡福唐里，境名隆峰，元代照旧。明代归北一隅3图，1910年划入龙田镇；1943年编为13甲。[1]

1950年隶第三区上薛乡，1984年设立前坑村委会。[1]

人口[edit]

全村628户，总人口2698人，有16个村民小组，党员45名。村财收入有十万元出头，村民多到外地经商。[1]
