西溪村位于福清市南岭镇的镇中心区，南岭镇人民政府设在村中，村名因村中一条溪流自西向东流过而得。[1]

地名由来[edit]

村中有一条溪自西向东流淌，村名「西溪」由此而来。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代此地归感德乡方成里，村内设有龙山境与后垄境。新中国成立初期隶属七社乡，此后划入海口区。1958年由海口大队分出，设为西溪大队。1961年转属城头公社，1981年归南岭公社，1984年改设村委会，隶南岭乡，1999年乡改为镇。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

村西北侧、思亲堂旁边的陈英烈士墓，纪念的是出生于本村的革命烈士陈英。墓园背靠西山，面朝村落，墓前立有大理石纪念碑。[2]

文化[edit]

荣誉方面，2019年12月西溪村入选「第一批国家森林乡村」名单；2021年11月，它被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2022年10月，获认定为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」；2024年初，被列为「第二批福建省乡村振兴示范村镇」创建对象；2025年11月，又被认定为「福建省第二批省级乡村振兴示范村」。[1]
