溪边村是城头镇下辖的行政村，村西侧有一条九曲溪，村后有凤凰山（又称燕子山），村庄坐落在溪边，因此取名溪边。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代在感德乡永宾里，属榕溪境；元代沿用旧制，明代隶属南上隅永宾里。1910年归永宾乡，1943年设溪边保。1959年另立溪边大队，划入海口公社；1961年划归城头公社，1984年设村委会，1990年随乡改镇。[1][3]
