福长村是霞拔乡的行政村，博雅地名网称它是全乡最大的行政村。村部距乡政府驻地2.5公里，永泰至霞拔的公路贯穿村境。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

早先此地叫福堂前，属永福县二十二都中和乡高盖里。王氏始祖王丈公于明永乐二年（1404年）由江西建昌府迁入，已传了二十四代。[1]

2006年，村部新址落成；村里有老人活动中心、文化室、卫生所，以及一所完小。村中的「双龙」公园有小湖与多处凉亭，天然怪石险峻。[1]

荣誉[edit]

永泰县人民政府网2024年7月的报道称，福长村获评「福州市乡村振兴试点村」。[2]
