黄坪村因土地多为黄色壤土，又有相对平坦的地势，得名“黄坪”。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

宋代属奉政乡安仁里。解放后，1950年至1953年属第二区溪芝乡，1954年至1957年曾先后隶属另外两个乡。1958年归火箭公社的一个大队，1959年属东桥公社，1961年并入另一大队，1977年单独设立黄坪大队。[2]

1984年，东桥乡政府设立，黄坪划为其属下的一个村民委员会；撤乡建镇后，村子改由东桥镇管辖。[2]
