横溪村隶属福建省福州市闽清县省璜镇，是镇内的行政村。2021年1月，该村被评定为「福州市乡村振兴中高级版试点村」；2021年11月，被命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」；2022年10月，省农业农村厅将该村列为「第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

村北及西侧山麓下各有一条小涧，涧水在村尾汇成小溪，因溪坑之水横向流过，此地遂名横溪。[1]

解放后，该村先后属四区与池园区的谷口乡，1961年划入上莲公社，之后在塔庄与省璜两个公社间变动，以横坑大队的名称存续。1984年起成为省璜乡下属的村民委员会。[1]
