圣塘村在鉴江湾的南岸，背山面海，与碧里乡的牛澳村相邻，下设圣塘、古郁、岭里三处自然村。村子属半渔业村，海带、紫菜养殖是支柱产业。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村民原从福清迁来，在塘边建起神庙，庙中的菩萨据说十分灵验。“圣”字在方言里读作“线”，意为灵验，村名因此叫圣塘。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
明至清末，此地隶贤一里；民国时属第二、第一两区，并入鉴匹镇。[1]
1950年划入第三区鉴江乡，1952年改隶鉴江镇。1958年起隶碧里公社鉴江大队；1961年另设圣塘大队，隶碧里区鉴江公社。[1]
1984年改为村委会，仍属鉴江镇。[1]
人口与经济[edit]
博雅地名网载，全村总168户、706人，未注明统计年份。土地面积13.6平方千米，耕地395亩。[1]
海带、紫菜养殖的面积达三千多亩，是村中的支柱产业。[1]
荣誉[edit]
2021年11月，村子由福建省爱卫办命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
