大湖村位于飞竹镇西北部，离城关约43公里，经142县道相通。全村辖大湖、浦头、后园3个自然村，是老区基点村。[1][2]

历史沿革[edit]

清代，叶姓人家在此建屋居住。因迷信风水，他们在屋前开凿三个湖泊，村名由此取为大湖。[1]

自明至清末此地属重下里。民国时期属第四、第三区，分属福丰、丰深等乡。1950年归第四区丰余乡，1952年改属第八区，1955年划入洋柄区。[1]

1958年改设大队，隶属飞竹公社。1961年分出设大湖大队，归丰余公社管辖；1965年又回到飞竹公社。[1]

文革期间改称大队革委会，1983年仍称大队管委会，1984年改为村委会。[1]

经济[edit]

村里重点发展油茶，计划打造油茶基地，并引进企业进行种植。[2]

文化[edit]

2010年，本村被评为市级生态村。2021年11月，本村获评「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1][2]
