历史沿革[edit]
村域宋至清属侯官县，雍正十二年（1734年）改入侯官县的大湖分县。清末划入大湖区，之后改属第九区的大湖乡。[1]
1961年独立建队，1984年改大队为村。[1]
地理环境[edit]
村子东边挨着墙坪与大湖两村，西侧连接兰田村，南边与双溪、新塘两村接界，北边靠近雪峰村。全村面积15310亩，耕地2012亩，山地9374亩；下辖上苑、洋中、何空、郑地四个自然村。[1][2]
现有438户、1925人，博雅地名网与百度百科所载相同。[1][2]

2021年11月，上苑村入选2021年福建省卫生村名单，名单由福建省爱卫办公布。[1]
