村名各取村内金山、下田两个自然村名的一个字，合为「金田」。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1979年单独设立大队；1984年起设金田村民委员会，名称延续至今。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年10月，金田村列入第二批福建省乡村治理示范村镇名单，认定单位为福建省农业农村厅。[1]
