地理环境[edit]
村庄位于闽侯县西部，距乡政府驻地约5千米。东面与源口相邻，西与埕头村接壤，南靠鸿尾村，北面临江。村域地势南高北低。[1][2]
地名由来[edit]
村中的南阳与下岐两个自然村各取一字，合成本村名。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
村域在古代归侯官县所辖，原称“二十三都”，据博雅地名网已有四百余年的历史。[1]
文化[edit]
据博雅地名网，明代有一位告老还乡的太医在南阳自然村建造民居，石材由南平、三明一带水运而来，建筑保留明代风格。[2]
村中的下岐古码头位于闽江边，江水流经此处形成倒流的景观，码头旁有三株百年大榕树。每年端午，村民自发组织龙舟比赛。[2]
1990年因316国道通车，福州至下岐的专线航班停航。[2]
荣誉[edit]
福建省爱卫办于2021年11月将南下村列为「2021年福建省卫生村」。[1]
