据博雅地名网所载，村名的意思是大村落的后面还有一个小村落，故名后村。[1]

历史沿革[edit]

1983年，祥谦人民公社中分出了尚干一镇，村委会则于1984年设立。[1]

荣誉[edit]

2022年12月，本村由福建省爱国卫生运动委员会授予「2022年福建省卫生村」称号。[1]
