茂田村是福建省福州市闽侯县南屿镇下辖的行政村，位于镇的西北方向，与芝田、玉田、中溪等村相邻，下辖四个自然村。[1]
地名由来[edit]
村子旧时俗称墓田里，后取谐音写作茂田。村前田地纵横，村民勤于耕作，有富足之意。[1]
历史沿革[edit]
茂田先属建田乡，后归芝田大队。1962年独立成为一个大队，1974年又分队，仍以茂田为队名。1984年改设茂田村民委员会，沿用至今。[1]
荣誉[edit]
福建省爱国卫生运动委员会于2022年12月认定茂田村为「2022年福建省卫生村」。[1]
