玉田村是玉田镇所在地，村内有中共玉田支部旧址（玉田郑氏宗祠）、玉田龙首桥等区级文物保护单位。[1][3]

村名书面写作「玉田」，当地口头仍说「白田」；《长乐六里志》中有「玉田即白田」的记载。[2]

地名由来[edit]

《榕城考古略》引晋武帝太康三年（282年）设郡之事，记太守严高曾想把郡治迁到白田渡，因嫌其地朝南而作罢。[2]

白田渡曾是古渡口，20世纪30年代有小火轮往返于福州与白田渡之间，被称作「白田轮」。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1934年（民国23年），白田一带划归长乐县，设第七区。据民国24年（1935年）元旦户口普查，白田村有300多户，一千余人。[2]

文物古迹[edit]

村内区级文物保护单位4处：中共玉田支部旧址（玉田郑氏宗祠，1995年公布）、陈弼夫墓（墓亭，1995年）、石梁墓（蕉岭，1998年）、玉田龙首桥（2019年）。[3]

村内文物点5处：玉田摩崖石刻、玉田万安桥、洋中古民居、玉田水碓磨坊（蕉岭）、郑春敏故居，均于2013年公布。[3]

革命历史[edit]

1928年4月，玉田党支部与桃源党支部同期成立。[4]
