洞头村位于营前街道南部，北接岐头社区，东面临闽江支流洞江，西面依狮峰一带山岭[1]。村内洞头山麓一带有明状元陈谨墓，为区级文物[3]。

地名与历史[edit]

村东临闽江支流洞江，村名由此而来，故又称洞江村[1]。1952年设洞头管委会，1958年改为洞头大队，1986年设村委会，沿用至今[2]。

全村有北头、南头两个自然村[1]。

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月将洞头村命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」[1]。
