马头村位于营前街道西部，村落依双峰山而建，濒临营前港，东面隔江与首占镇相对，西面与洞头村相邻[1]。全村辖2个自然村，村中有马头郑氏支祠和广明寺，另有马头状元府井为文物点[1][3]。

地名与历史[edit]

此地旧为码头，宋时有居民从河南迁来定居，因“马”与“码”同音，遂写作马头[1]。村旧称双峰、马江[1]。1958年成为马头生产大队，1982年设马头村委会[2]。

祠堂与古迹[edit]

马头郑氏支祠建于清康熙年间，1935年于原址重建，雕梁画栋[1]。村中还有广明寺；马头状元府井为文物点[1][3]。

荣誉[edit]

福建省爱卫办于2021年11月将马头村命名为「2021年福建省卫生村」[1]。
