铁坑村旧名吉山。此地石头稀少，石头比铁还难找，于是改称铁坑。[1]村中的铁坑村游击队根据地遗址是1945年以后革命活动的旧地。[2]

历史沿革[edit]

1984年改称日溪乡铁坑村，并设立村委会。[1]此前，村子1971年北峰区成立时隶属芝铁公社铁坑大队，1961年12月归福州郊区，1949年12月归闽侯县第8区，属芝铁乡铁坑村；民国时期属林森县。[1]

名胜古迹[edit]

铁坑村地处连江、闽侯、罗源三县交界，地形复杂。1945年8月，党组织派人到此秘密开展游击活动，同年建立铁坑游击据点，此后渐渐成为游击队的根据地。[2]

文化[edit]

2024年1月，铁坑村被命名为「2023年福建省卫生村」。[1]
