历史沿革[edit]
村名得自村前的乌石桥，桥近村西北的乌石山。民国《萧山县志稿》已有乌石桥村名记载。[2]
起初此地归绍兴县溋湖乡管辖，同年9月改属萧山县。合作化时编入塘下屠高级社，人民公社时期更名为临浦区第一农场。1961年又称通济公社新联大队，1984年改为临东村，设村民委员会，隶通济乡。[2]
1992年5月归临浦镇通济办事处，1998年5月起直属临浦镇。随后，居民委员会于1998年9月设立，2005年8月定名临东社区。[2][3]
地理环境[edit]
社区东侧与华家村为界，南侧衔接高田陈社区，西侧是山阴街社区，北侧邻03东复线。社区区域面积为1.3平方千米，交通发达。[3]
人口民族[edit]
据2022年发布的社区概况，社区共241户，设10个居民小组，选出居民代表40人；在册人口821人，另有外来人口三百余人。[3]
社区党总支下设3个党支部，共有党员40名。[3]
经济[edit]
社区沿街商铺及企业共计80多家。2021年，社区集体收入为255.44万元，花费34.17万元，结余221.27万元，年终向居民发放分红28.68万元。[3]
文化[edit]
2021年5月，社区获评萧山区2020年度「平安村（社区）」。[1]
